The scoop
If you're changing your name and want to travel straight after the wedding, you can apply for a passport in your new name up to 3 months before the ceremony. It's post-dated, so you can't use it before the wedding, and your old passport is cancelled.
You'll need a newlyweds form signed by the minister or registrar. Remember to book honeymoon travel in the name on the passport you'll carry. A new adult passport costs Β£102 online or Β£115.50 with a paper form.
